Here is a great Pasta with Onion Sauce recipe if you are a diabetic
I had this meal made for me and it was unbelievable! I never thought a diabetic dish could be so tasty. A splash of wine plus a hint of nutmeg add extraordinary flavor to this creamy yet low-fat pasta side dish. Assembled in just 10 minutes and cooked in 15 minutes, this dish is fast and easy enough for a weeknight, yet looks and tastes fantastic. Your family and friends are sure to love this simple Italian recipe.
• 3 ounces dried linguine or fettuccine
• 1-1/2 cups broccoli florets
• Nonstick spray coating
• 1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
• 3/4 cup fat-free milk
• 2 teaspoons cornstarch
• 1 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon granules
• Dash pepper
• Dash ground nutmeg
• 2 tablespoons dry white wine
• 1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese (2 ounces)
1. Cook linguine or fettuccine according to package directions, adding the broccoli for the last 5 minutes of cooking. Drain well.
2. Meanwhile, lightly coat a large skillet with nonstick spray coating. Add onion to the skillet. Cook, covered, over medium-low heat about 10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.
3. In a small bowl stir together milk, cornstarch, bouillon granules, pepper, and nutmeg. Add to onion in skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Stir in wine and cheese until cheese is melted. Pour cheese mixture over pasta and broccoli; toss to coat. Makes 5 side-dish servings.
Health is the number one priority for any person but especially for a person who is a diabetic. Intake of proper foods creates better weight control and definitely helps control diabetes. We also want to create the proper health for your feet and that is done with proper footwear and proper inserts. The following information you’ll be reading is what is necessary to attain perfect health for your feet.
Please allow us to get you fitted with the proper footwear and hopefully, with our help, you will be working your way to success in keeping the disease out of your feet. We, at dtfootwear.com, can show you the proper footwear and the need to have the proper inserts to keep this diabetes out of your feet. Footwear can be fashionable (and we have that) but the ultimate purpose of the shoe is to control upper support and off-load any problems that you have on the top of your foot. If you are experiencing problems with the bottom of your feet, then it is the job of a proper, removable insert to correct them. Many people believe it is the shoe that solves all, or most, of the problems for diabetics or people with major foot problems, but that is not always the case. Off-loading requires three elements; corrections, added support and developing added circulation, to keep this disease out of your feet. Shoes for diabetics should not have inside seams to create irritation.
First of all, the proper shoes need to be a Therapeutic/Comfort (please!) not Comfort shoes (which many diabetic suppliers furnish in this business today). Secondly, Customized Heat Moldable Plastazote Inserts are necessary. Besides great support, the other advantages of added off-loading will help you develop better balance for walking or running and the 2% increase in temperature of the bottom of your feet will aid in developing better circulation to keep the disease out of your feet. Think of the added pleasures and advantages in just one item. And, oh yes, these inserts are provided FREE by us for every pair of shoes purchased – unbelievable!!!!
We, at DTF, have a deep concern for diabetics and their need for properly fitted footwear. We can provide “wide widths” – 4A to 14E – in both men’s and women’s footwear, and we can help those who have difficulty finding “over sizes” – 11 to 17 in length. We, also, can provide footwear in “under sizes” – 4 to 6 in length. In addition to being capable of providing these wide widths in fashionable styles of Therapeutic/Comfort footwear; we are offering a FREE GIFT to you! With every pair of shoes purchased, we will include up to (3) sets of Customized Heat Moldable Inserts that will provide even more support, added balance and stability every time you wear your shoes.
