Home Remedies For Swollen Feet And Ankles

Swollen feet and ankles can put a damper on your activity and comfort throughout the day.
Thankfully, there are some natural ways to manage swelling that can help prevent discomfort and keep you feeling great on your feet all day long.

Elevate Your Feet

Elevate your feet above your heart by propping them up on cushions, pillows or the couch. Try to do this several times throughout the day, in 20 minute increments.
If you work a desk job, try putting your feet up on the desk throughout the day. Before bed, you can lay with your head toward the foot of the bed and put your legs up the wall just before going to sleep.

Epsom Salt Soak

Epsom salt soaks can help to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling while helping to remove toxins.
At the end of the day, fill a basin or tub with lukewarm water and add epsom salts (you can also add lavender essential oil for added relaxation) and soak your feet for 20 minutes to help soothe your feet and reduce swelling.

Compression Socks

If you suffer from varicose veins, swollen legs, post surgery, or moderate edema, you may benefit from compression socks.
Be sure to choose socks that offer gradual compression from ankle to knee (20-25mmHg). Be sure to choose  high quality socks, ideally with copper sole technology for added anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-odor protection.

Stay Hydrated

Ensuring that your body gets adequate fluids can help to reduce swelling in the body.
If you’re dehydrated, your body will hold onto the fluids it has, rather than releasing them. Be sure to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water throughout the day (Ex: If you weigh 200 lbs, be sure to drink at least 100 oz of water per day). Adding fresh lemon juice or lemon essential oil to your water can also help to reduce swelling.

Weight Loss

If you are overweight, chances are that your feet may be swelling because of decreased circulation.
Losing weight can help to lighten the load on your feet, and living a more active lifestyle can help to promote circulation throughout the body, including ankles and feet.

Hi Adam,

10 1/2 “is a 10 1/2 to an 11 in length

5 ” is this length is a 10E width

I suggest 11 10E size

Now there are only three styles that we stock in a 10E width and that 728E, 502 E. 502 X, and need to try one of these three styles to make sure an 11 10E is going to fit you. All stock shoes can be returned, and then once we know the styles – we make any style that you find in the Men’s 9E section into an 11 10E for you, and that takes 7 to 8 weeks to get to you and an additional charge of $95.00.  In the Special Order section, there is a paragraph that tells you how to order that style that you want

Now, the first thing is to find the correct size and width and order any of the three styles above, which is in stock, can be returned, and this is our starting point.
