Vikings quarterback Brett Favre will be fined $50,000, but not suspended, for allegedly sending a Jets team employee explicit text messages and photos. Jenn Sterger, the recipient of the alleged messages, worked as a sideline personality for the Jets in 2008. Favre has admitted to leaving her voicemails, but denies sending her explicit photos. The fine was issued because Favre was deemed uncooperative and not candid during the league’s investigation into the incident.

David Robinson was born August 6, 1965, in Key West, Florida. Key West, Florida. The second child of Ambrose and Freda Robinson and since David’s father was in the Navy, the family moved many times. After his father retired from the Navy, the family settled in Woodbridge, Virginia. David excelled in school and in most sports except basketball. He was 5 feet, 9 inches tall in junior high school so he tried his hand at basketball, but soon quit. Robinson attended Osbourn Park High School. By his senior year in high school he was 6 feet, 7 inches tall, but he had not played organized basketball. When the coach added the tall senior to the basketball team, Robinson earned all-area and all-district honors but generated little interest among college basketball coaches. Basketball was not his first priority anyway—getting an education was. Robinson scored a 1320 on the SAT. So David decided to attend the U.S. Naval Academy after graduation from high school.

Gheorghe Mureşan (aka. Ghiţă), is a former Romanian professional basketball player. At 7’7″, he is arguably the tallest man to ever play in the NBA, supposedly standing a few millimeters taller than Sudanese player Manute Bol. Like Bol, both his parents are of average size (however unlike Bol his great height is the result of a pituitary disorder).
